Well it took me almost all day yesterday to fix the new seats on my sprint. I have to admit , the first time is the hardest , the second seat needed 1/3 of the time and with better results.

Well this is the result, quite good. since i have the color i can make those door panels at last. The question is , will i use black or the color of the seats? I towards the 2nd option.

Well i didn't do all the work alone so i couldn't take all the pictures i would like , since i was at my friends workshops and i was occupying space.

I decided to go the was Darkclone went , replacing original bases as it would be better and more strong bolt.

So here we go, fisrts i had to remove the leather and foam from the base of the seat in order to unbolt the base.

But this is not enough , you have to unpin the sides in order to have access to the bolts like this one...

GTV seats have 4 13'' bolts and 2 10'' bolts on each seat and the sprint has only 4 13'' .

After you remove the base you have to widen the holes in order to gain 1cm in total for the wider Sprint base. Tricky job so you must have fresh drills for iron , possibly a couple of 12'' size and 5'' for the firts guide.

Here is the widened hole , not that pretty but it it ok for the purpose.

As for the base itself of Sprint , ok top holes are ok with the seat base but you have to drill new on the botom to much those from the seat. Not that difficult but it takes time as it is harder metal..

Oh something else important. GTV seats have spacers between the seat and the base in order for the mechanism to work ( the one that releases and moves the seat). because they are too big you have to remove them at least of the bottom but you have to use smaller spacers for the front in order for sprint mechanism to work also.
Still the seat is high enough so you have to remove the plastic spacers also from Sprint floor and mount the seat directly to the floor . This will give yo almost the same clearance as the old ones although you have to adjust it to the same reclining position.

Another thing that changes is the way that new seat absorbs vibrations... There is not absorption at all :cheese: since it is only foam and not foam and springs as in the old seats. So , if you have stiff suspension be prepared to feel everything of the road , even the smallest anomally .

Nice Job, nice seats in a nice car! Very Happy

I'd have the door trims black, else you could end up with a look like this Wink
