A couple of posts on here have made me think.
Is it wrong to list parts on eBay rather than on this forum? _________________ Fiat Bravo 165 Sport |

IMO Perfectly reasonable to put parts on ebay then give heads up on here to auctions. Everyone gets a chance, instead of first come first served.

Thanks John... at the end of the day it's going to be pretty difficult to put me off of the auction format (if you know a little something about me )
I see it as everyone having a chance (as you rightly said) and then I get to make a couple of quid out of it... win win

Think ebay is the best way. I'm currently (as you can see from my other post ) selling a load of stuff on ebay. I've advertised on forums before and you get loads of PMs and calls saying 'yeah I will have it' quite often they don't come up with the money! _________________ 1977 Alfasud 16v

I agree with this too... Paul will back me up on the number of times he has dug things out for people and never heard from them again despite many assurances.

Pat... If is wasn't for eBay I'd never had bought four of my alfas, let alone be able to get the parts to keep them going! I've never really had a problem selling things on there... are you talking about "hit and miss" as to whether the parts sale or not?

I think ebay is the way to go Bob, telling people on here you have listed things on there is always best to, lots of us do it that way. In my opinion you have done it the right way mate. _________________ 155 sportpack

Thanks Alex... it doesn't seem to matter how you do something, it always upsets someone.

It's entirely up to you mate what you do with them. If you can make a few quid rather than 'giving' it away to us scrounging bar stewards then all well and good. Personally I'd just be happy with some skin to skin contact |

Hi
Afraid I am going off Ebay a bit. With the charges these days I wouldn't really want to list anything I wanted a reasonable return on, and if buying it is difficult to find stuff when you just get pages of listings for some cheap generic garbage listed as for a particular vehicle (eg, look for bike bits and you land up with dozens of listing for rim tape, or listings for magazine road tests both of which might be interesting but are too difficult to filter out when you are not interested in them).
However they are your bits.
All the best

I understand your thoughts Keith.......but ebay has a wide audience and you're much more likely to sell parts on there considering how rare our cars are now. If you want a certain return on an item then there's always the option of a reserve. Local ads etc would be pointless and other ads in classic car mags and the like can be more expensive than the ebay charges. |

Hi
Unless I was desperate for the money I would just keep the bits!
