Hi,
For storing a car do the following:
1. place the car on stands (on the support points)
2. store wheels in a dry , shady place
3. disconnect battery terminals (do a charge once per 50days)
4. cover brake disks
when taking her on the road again replace engine oil, brake fluid and prefferably coolant - It is advisable to run the motor from time to time for a while.

When I stored the Sud over winter, she is in a dry garage, but isnt heated...
Last year I bought a solar trickle charger that keeps the battery tip top over the winter. I have axle stands and aim to keep her off the floor this year.
I get there and start her up at least once a month and run her for about 10-15 mins, then off.
In March, oil will be changed, but will leave the brake fluid this year as not done that long ago. Water will get a change in the spring, that one is due. May even get around to using a wire brush, rustproof and underseal on the sills/floorpan this year.
Why cover the brake disks? Thats an interesting idea!? |

Hi,
Covering your brake disks you prevent corrosion being developed on the surface - when you reuse your car and you press the brakes then the brake pads will take the role of "sandpaper" and you will probably need pad replacement and for sure your disks will have uneven wear.
If you notice the new cars being delivered have their disks and calipers covered with some sort of white plastic cover.
