Can anyone point me the way of replacement speakers for my Series 3 with Reccaro interior. Both the tweeter and the one at the bottom of the card would be useful but particularly the one at the bottom behind the rectangular grille.

Hi JC,
Have you tested the tweeter as the cap could have died.
Any 6 x 4 speaker should fit, are you looking for any old speaker?
I think most will be coaxial, as in comes with built in tweeter.
When I replaced my tweeters, I had to make the holes a little larger.
Need to know a little more on what you want to do.
Ideally you want the tweeters up high as your legs will muffle the sound if you get coaxials

You could buy some tweeters and use the old cap on the old tweeter as the low pass filter and disconnect the tweeter on the coaxials, or you could buy a crossover for the tweeters which would balance out the tweeters with the woofer.

Direct replacements- haven't fitted myself though- tend to listen to the engine in the 33 Very Happy and the head unit is so old it possibly has valves Laughing

Drivers side tweeter fell to bits when i took the card out a year or so ago.

The drivers side 6 x 4 has just started sound really horrible, paper become unglued I suspect.

My only aim is to get back to a standard system that sounds OK, no need to impress the girls here.

The foam surround usually perishes
You can try a coaxial replacement, if you find the high frequencies are muffled, get tweeters.

I used 6x4 JBL's in mine Jeremy and I re-used the original grills. Sounds pretty good and looks OE that way too.

How are the highs Lee? I found my leg blocks the speaker and the other side is blocked by the seat.

Got to say pretty good Al. Do have OE tweeters working also and linked to a decent Sony head which helps I guess. How far forward have you got passenger seat to block speaker?

Jeremy. Found the ones I have on the bay. I paid a fair few quid for the same ones so these are a bit of a bargain.

As far as it will go without the gearstick hitting it when changing gear lol.

Finally got this job done today, one of the best £20 I ever spent, why didn't I do it years ago.

Cheap they may be but they sound great:
