Got this one in mind.

60,000 kms on the clock.
Was stored for a while (hence low kms), so got to check it out very carefully.

8v nice and easy to work on vs. 16v.

A/C, power steering and injection so better suited for wife/family.

Will check it out in a couple of weeks.

Possible problems steering rack leaks, catalytic converter, lambda sensor.

Different character to 16V. Engine more torquey at low revs. I wouldn't mind one myself.

How much is 10 500 uruguay dollars in £/€?? €400 sounds cheap if that is right.

Who would pay Ten big ones(or whatever they call a thousand bucks) for a 33????

I expect Brit01 will clarify, but the symbol for Uruguayan Peso is U$, UYU or U$U, so I thought U$S was US dollars.

Anyway, here is a 33 in Argentina for equivalent of 9,000 US dollars

yep 10500 USD!

Here in Uruguay the cars are very expensive and this is cheap for a used car with just 60K on the clock.
You don't get anything that runs for less than 10K here!

Alfa's are not so popular because are the rarity of parts and knowledge.

( my colleagues 12 years old Citroen saxo is worth about 13K USD!!!)

I like the 8v because of its simplicity and I know the engine very well now.
One with Motronic Bosch injection is a new challenge but at least the internals are the same.

Lambda sensors can be replaced here. In fact I have a spare one with many other spare parts from my current 8v 1.7 33.
power steering rack hopefully is good as it had little use.
I also have a spare compressor from an A/C unit, plus hoses etc.

How much are new cars then? Shocked

The steering rack on mine was changed around 70,000; clutch too (before I bought it). Timing belt kit may be due as well...

new cars are on average double (sometimes 3-4 times for more luxury makes) what you pay in Europe.

Road tax can be anywhere between 150 USD and 10,000 USD a year depending on the make and model of your car.
oh yeh and min salary is about 350/400 USD a month!!!!!

Timing belts piece of cake on the 8v. 5 min job Wink
clutch I know, dropped my 8v engine last year. Not too easy.

They should bring that in here in the uk:

150usd equivalent (£96) for Italian cars and 10k for Range Rovers, Discoverys, Volvo XC90 and any other 'SUV'...

LOL aleady looked into that mate.

TAX TAX and more TAX!!
You'll end up paying more.

99% TAX on the value the local customs decide upon!! (not the price you paid overseas!!)+ admin fees etc etc
