Using a list of engine codes it appears I have a 301.68 sudb1.35/Sprint 63bhp in my grasser

Out of interest what's the difference to all the 1.35 engines thAt allow then to vary in power from 63bhp to 86

Hi,

I think the main reason of the power variation between the 1351cc engines is the fuel feeding.
Some models were supplied with single carb with double barrels, while other models were equipped with double carbs (double barelled too).
Because of the different antipollution regulations, the carb jetting could be different as well, and there were differences in the fuel octane rating between countries.
Different jetting was also required to modify the ignition advance curve accordingly, therefore the distributors were slightly different as well.

As far as I know, only the 1186cc engines were produced 62/63bhp, while the 1351cc ones are ranging from 68bhp

The first suds had 1186 cc engines(63 bhp, single carb), then 1286cc(68 and 76 bhp), then 1351.
