Hello gentlemen,
I was actually thinking about posting and update you guys and dolls however pat has done that for me
My exhaust needed work as it snapped and then it was booked in a week later for a remap to pass emissions and then an mot.
I had to cancel all that as my 33 died on my way to work, just around October time. I had to park the car up and get the train to work.
I went back the next day and tried a coil that pat lent me in case it was that. Looked on the laptop and there is a CPS signal when cranking and I can smell fuel. Think it's the ECU (Omex 500) as there is no spark. There is power to the coil but no excitation from the ECU to trigger it to spark.
Spoke to omex and was told to test the output signal with a 12v led and I should just be able to see it light when cranking and that it is unusual for both signals to fail. It runs like a wasted spark system but both signals are joined together as I still run a dizzy.
I joined the, RAC £135 later, as I needed it moved asap as I couldn’t leave it where it was any longer and asked for my vehicle to be recovered straight to Marks garage and explained what the problem was. I arranged a time when I will be at my vehicle.
I had to wait an hour for them to get there after the pre arranged time. The guy then tried to fix it and couldn’t, coming to the same conclusion I had and 45 mins later called for it to be flat bedded.
2 hrs later, which was now too late as marks place is in a secured ind estate and is locked, I asked for it to be dropped off elsewhere.
Since the police assaulted me and 4 and a half years later, I still suffer. It finally came to an end last year, one thing I suffer with is procrastination.
I have not got round to diagnosing the problem and fixing it, the mot ran out and I sorned it end of January.
Prior to that I bought a 159 2.4 ti on the 15th of November.
Waiting for the weather to get better and I will get the 33 up and running again as I miss him big time.
The 159 is being left standard, which is very hard for me, so no playing around with it.
I am not a fan of new cars, it’s a 1.6 tonne car and it is a cruiser. Need to get a trailer sorted for some track days with the 33 _________________ x2 33 16v

Could it just be the electronic ignition module that needs changing? They don't cost much.
Worth trying a new one before writing off the ecu. Good luck. _________________ Alfa33 QO 1984
