I am now sitting every night and dreaming of driving my 33 again. I havent for at least 4 weeks now. Sad Does any know where i can source a decent 16v engine for the old girl. The cambelt snapped on me and i fear the worst for the left bank of valves to be fair.

I think it will be a cheaper job for me to drop a new engine in her Question as otherwise i have to pay someone lots of wad to pop the heads off, whip out engine, fit new belts, new valves, check pistons for cracks etc etc etc. the unit in there has done a few miles. Can any one suggest if this is the best way to head(excuse the pun) Wink

I would also consider a whole car if someone has a 16v takin up space(unlikely) Rolling Eyes but any suggestions will be taken with great pleasure

Charlie,

My personal preference is to rebuild what you currently got. At least that way you know what you are up for. Who knows the motor you pick up could be just as shagged Wink

I shall weigh up the cost of this. My mechanic will charge me the earth to rebulid it, but around fifty sheets to drop a new unit in. I am fairly strapped for the mokey at the moment as i am in studentdom. Still its gotta be fixed. I will consider both options. I think i may have sourced a new unit mind Very Happy

cheers for advice Wink
