My 16V is flooding and won't start unless the plugs are taken out and dried. Is the most likely cause the water temp sender?

Engine starts once plugs have been cleaned and dried, but with plennum, idle controller, and AFM removed.

While engine is running replaced plennum, no change. Replaced idle controller no change. Replaced AFM no change. Plug in electrical connector to AFM, engine dies immediately. Should I just assume faulty AFM?

Hi

Does sounds like a dodgy afm, but I am surprised it runs at all with it disconnected.

All the best

Not only that, it runs with no plennum, idle control valve or AFM! It even revs cleanly, but with a white smokey exhaust, and plugs which soot up; too much fuel obviously.

Does the black cover on the AFM snap off, and if so does the screw in it come off with it?
