I really need to check if any valves are bent on my 16 v engine. Is this jus a simple removal of head? Rolling Eyes it is the left bank where the belt snapped. I need to know if this is a job which i can perform myself or is it something I need to hand over to the pros? I have been offered a 16v unit which i think would be the cheapest option for me if any valves etc are bent. Any ideas on this do I need any special tools or anything 'majic' like that.
Any help appreciated. Wink

Hi

Not sure how easy it is to get the head off with the engine in place

You need a torx type bit to get the head bolts undone. Not sure of the real name for it, but I think it has 12 splines rather than the 6 of a torx bolt. You also need to unbolt the cam belt covers, exhausts, fuel rail, air intake, throttle linkage and a water pipe (and probably a few other bits I have forgotten)

All the best

Keith
