Does anybody know a company who makes big dimension cross-over tuning manifolds for the Boxer 16V?

I once got a very good one from the company IRESA, but this company does not exist anymore.

CSC and Supersprint do not make the manifold for the 16V (only for 8V).

If it is totally impossible to get a new 16V cross-over manifold, we will start a little production here in Denmark, based on the IRESA manifold.

But it will not be cheap. The price will be 400-500 US dollars.

Sorry.

It was me who asked about the 16V manifold and no guest.

I had remembered to Log in, but obviously you are Logged out automatically, if you wait too long!

The cross-over manifold gives a better, more even flow, due to the ignition sequence (two cylinders in the right side fire after each other, and then two cylinder in the left side of the engine fire after each other).

I have not made tests on the 16V engine, but in the old days we made a lot of tests, and the cross-over manifold gave about 5 bhp extra, and in the whole rpm-range, not just at the top.

The extra bhp was less on a standard 1.2 (maybe 2 bhp), but the gain increased with the capacity and tuning grade, so that on a 1.5 tuned to about 110 bhp, the gain was about 6 bhp.

I've got mail from them saying that they can deliver the 16V manifold
and 2,5" exhaust so they have to exist. Smile

My friend is running on cross over in his 16v. By Autodelta. The sound is intoxicating. Does anyone knows the possibility of cutting the bv 146 extractors and retrofit? They come original cross over. I have a set of Devil's 4-1 for 8v

Serious about the Devil's manifold? Sounds like a great addition for my 33 - how much are they going for and whereabouts are you situated?

I am in Singapore. I had the full system but threw away the centre pipe and tail pipe cause diametre was not big enough and I had storage problems. I am still keeping the extractor around. Can see by the design that it was flow balanced with additional kinks to lengthen the left pipe. And Devil is engaged by many car companies to design exhaust for their sports edition cars. I think Renault Clio Williams was one of them.
