Please dont hate me Very Happy

but i might sell my 33 next week for a very good price.And i am thinking of buying a 1994 1.8 155 .Has anyone any experiance in the 155 ?I will test drive it before buy it but i would like to hear your opinion about its driveability, problems or anything that i should take consern about.

I recommend that if you buy 155, take '95 (correct me if that's wrong) or newer because in that year it became 16v and the body is slightly wider, so it looks much nicer and is (probably) better to drive. I've also thought that 155 could be my next ride, who knows....

Just bought 155 2.0 ts -95 (94) I like more about the chain driven cams. Belt (16v) has some serious problems with durability.
2.0 ts is the last real Alfa engine with long stroke and much torque, same as in 75ts and 164ts.
155 will feel soft after 33, test drive it for couple of days to find out the condition. If 16v, take care that the cambelt has been changed lately.

My reason of buying the 155? Well, one old lady parked her new VW Golf into my wife's Nissan about 50mph.. Luckily no bad injuries, and I was driving alone. How wife wanted the Alfa is another story Rolling Eyes

Thanks on the replies friends,but the 155 project will be canceled ,at least for 6 months.Another plan is taking all of my money.Not enough money to make all at the same time.Maybe its for the best.

Hi

We have bought a 155 to go with the P4.

Problems are:-

Dodgy electrics. More complex than the 33.
People loosing the master key
Front suspension bushes last 40000 miles, and require replacement of the front suspension arms.
On the 16V the cambelt tensioner bearings fail and take the belts out.

Well, James, this is one expensive problem.... Basically you need the master key to recode your Alfa Code if it goes nuts and decides to light up the alfa code in the dash... It's the Master key that recodes all the other keys so that the code you've on the car's imobolizer corresponds to all the other keys you use (if it doesn't your car won't start)...

Master Keys are VERY expensive!

Hi

The master key is coded to the ecu, so if you loose the key you need to buy a new ECU and key combination at around £1000.
