A tidbit to titillate the tastebudsof the Alfisti.(illiterate illiteration?)
In the great land of Aus.there is a mountain called Panorama. To the petrolhead there is only ONE mountain in Aus for it is the home of Bathurst, one of the great circuits of the world.
This weekend it was home of a 24hr race for GT and Touring cars. Holden Monaro v8s,Ferraris, Lambos,Porsches et al. And guess what was lying 2nd until only half an hour from the end? An AR 156 GTA!
Unfortunate that they stuffed it into a wall with such a short time left to go. But the cars they were running against were all out racing gear (many factory backed) and they were dealing to them Laughing
Alfa Romeo? ask the hoi polloi.
Oh yeah, those little Italian cars. Go like stink. You always pull over when you see one coming 'cause they're usually driven by some nutter who's trying to double (or even treble) the bloody speed limit. Mad the lot of them.
AR rules

The 156 GTA did extremely well. First time at the mountain. They got up to 18 outright (45 cars started) and 2nd in class when the incident happened. Crying or Very sad

According to the team owner Andrew Leithhead, they were on track to take out their division. The car ran reliably, only stopping for drivers, fuel and tyres. Smile

Andrew spoke for about 5 - 10 minutes at the December AROCA meeting in Sydney recently. It was great to listen to what he had to say. Very Happy

My information was second hand unfortunately and sounded too exciting not to pass on. However it sounds like the Alfisti can still hold their heads high.
Alfa Romeo regola il monde Cool (Gucci shades?)

My Italian wife has just had a fit . Il mondo not il monde. A thousand grovelling apologies. May a horde of Italian fleas infest my armpits.
A humble and abashed Eddie
