Hi,

Today I replaced the fuel filter of my Alfa and the conclusion after the first moments of engine operation were impressive. The fuel pump is no longer making this annoying noise like a drill. It looks like it is no longer getting tired of supplying the fuel to the motor.

It was replaced almost 3 years ago or 30.000 kms before in contrast to the maintenance schedule which states replacement at every 40.000 kms.

So, the next time I will replace it in half mileage than the previous time thus being sure that I do not stretch the fuel system.

So have it in mind as many times the fuel that we use is not always of the optimum grade Rolling Eyes

I 'll cut it with a saw in order to see the color of the filter after these 30.000kms and I 'll come back with the discoveries Wink

Hi,

I remember, that Alfa recommends the replacing of the fuel filter every 40.000km OR every 2 years. Maybe this makes the difference.

Regards

Marcin

Hi,

I just opened the fuel filter and the element inside has a dark brown color.I did not see sand like meterial probably because yesterday when i removed it i pured out the gas that it contained and maybe the sand was taken away. This brown color material feels like thin mud which is probably the dirt of the fuel these past 3 years.

Now about the teleferique: Since I am working in Athens' Casino Resort I use the teleferique to reach it since it is on the top of the mountain. Some days ago the teleferique had a malfunction where the pulling wire rope got mixed up with the static wire ropes(the ones that the cabin slides) and the consequence was to become inoperative and people inside got trapped for 4 hrs.The technicians managed to disengage the pulleys from the central station and made it to pull slowly the cabins up to a certain point where the fire brigade rescued people.
That day I was working the night shift and it was only a matter of 4 minutes so that I was inside the specific cabin... It was a very close shot... Rolling Eyes
Anyway it will now take about 3 months in order to replace the pulling wire rope by the Swiss tramway company (Doppelmayr I think)

Regards,
