Oh no Sad

I have to have the front right shock replaced - the problem is that it costs a fortune, in comparison to other cars.

Cheapest price I have received is 1700 Rand (196.886 EUR) up to 5000 Rand for a pair of front shocks and fitting thereof.

The shocks that I can get here are a brand called Monroe - anyone got part numbers for others? Or are the specs from the workshop manual good enough to give the mechanics?

Type: Hydraulic
Piston rod diameter: 20mm (0.787 inches)
Stroke: 148.5mm (5.846 inches)

PS, other things I need to do are:
- the exhaust
- replacement of a tire (I guess because of a bad shock)
- the rubber boot at the left front wheel is torn.
- and all the rust forming at the bottom of the rear window
- central locking is broken (disconnected that awhile back - not all doors always lock)
- left front headlight chassis (behind the glass) has come loose
- the drivers side electric window can only come down 3-4cm before getting stuck.

Time for a new car? Embarassed
