Hi,
Can you give me some info on tuning of alfa 33 sport wagon 1.3 4x4? I have no idea of tuning, but i would like to know what can be done Smile

You shall not tune on a 1.3 engine. It is totally wrong and expensive.

You can buy a spare engine from a 1.5 or 1.7 (which is a much better solution) for the same money that will buy you a pair of cams and exhaust system for your 1.3.

In standard tune.....

1.5 green cloverleaf on carbs - 105bhp

1.7 8v on carbs - 118bhp

1.7 16v - 137bhp (I think!)

not sure about 8valve i.e. engines.

I haven't a clue about a 1.3, but the Sud 1.3s were close to 90bhp.

how come the 1.7 8 valve on carbs has more HP then the injection one...under theory shouldnt the injection make it faster??

A small difference in HP between the carb and i.e. versions I'd put down to the absence / presence of the cat. The newer (read: injection) versions were equipped with a cat, so the gain in power that came from the injection was lost because of the converter. However, the fuel economy improved and the emissions of CO/HC/NOx went a waaaay down.

All the other engines will fit.

But with the 16V you will also need a new front crossmember.
