Hi
Just picking up a thread from another topic...
Who's got the highest mileage/kilmoeterage 33 on the planet? (I reckon it should still have the original engine)
And, while we're at it, who's got the lowest? (New odometers don't count!) _________________ cheers

My '87 33 QV has 324,700 kms. I bought it with 115,000 kms on the clock so assume engine is original. Have had to replace head gasket on dirver's side (at about 170,000) and recently distributor cap. Have also gone through 2 sets of front discs and two clutches and a few other bits and pieces. The car uses minimal oil between changes - every 10,000 kms. I use either semi synthetic oil (Shell helix), but am trying a fully synthetic oil this time. Also tend to hit the rev limiter a few times - so as you can see, it is being driven the way it should be.

Darn I've been beat by about 40,000 miles
My Mk2 33 1.5 Ti had managed 162,000 miles/261,000Km on the original engine. With the starter, altenator and clutch slave cylinder leaving the vehicle at 130,000miles. The original unit was swapped for a 16v upgrade.
Still have it and the block is in reasonable condition. valve seats would need some work.
If I put it back in can I have another crack at the title. |

Well I guess congrats to John Hansen and Errol for their respective mileages
I am racking up 1000-1500 km a week in my 33 so have a little way to go catch Johns mileage! (currently = 224000km - 140000 miles)
Of course there is probably some knackered old 33 bashing its way round Milan with 500000km on the clock _________________ cheers

Thanks for putting the damper on the works James. I was hoping for a record, but obviously a measly 333,333Kms, which we hit today won't cut the mustard. Should the target be 666,666? _________________ John H

I could turn my mileage back by 100.000km and people would still believe me.
Steering wheel is a bit shiny, though. |

I did a double take when I saw my 33 16v for sale in the paper with 53,000 km (I bought it 2 hrs later) and I have a p4 that is still going really hard after 170,000 (just had cams and valves done to boot) my alfa mechanic's p4 has done nearly 300,000 and drives like a new car!, almost, but Errol from Sydney's only has 39,000 -have fun driving it in... |

There was an article in the Dutch Quadrifoglio magazine about somebody's 33 S2 with more than 500.000km on the clock. Was still driving like new and it looked great. |
