Installed x2 floats to dellortos. car runs like new. Wish i had looked at floats years ago.
Now to repair stuffed clutch release bearing. Hope i find this an easy job, have never removed engine/gearbox before.

Hey Pete. There might be something usefull here: http://www.alfa-pages.co.uk/phpbb2/viewtopic.php?t=1308
Also, the idea I write about in that post, is to lower the engine slightly using a rope. Pictures of this are here:

http://wizz.dyndns.dk/alfa/gearbox_dump/IMG_9599-2.jpg.
In this last picture, both supports S1 and S3 (Named B and C in the workshop manual) have been undone. The last support - S2 (or A in the manual..) is shown here, along with the clutch itself.

More pictures can be seen on: http://wizz.dyndns.dk/gearbox.htm
Hope this is of some help..

Hi Pete, on the l/h side of the middle mount( at the back of the engine) is a stud that protrudes from the engine block through the bellhousing and also the engine mount. Reinstallation is much easier if the hole in the mount for this stud is slotted to the bottom so that with the mount loosely in position on the bulkhead, the engine/gbox ass. can be lifted at the rear to engage with the mount. Without slotting the mount you can't do it this way because of the stud interfering and believe me it is a lot easier .
Regards Eddie
