Hi Pete, 5-6mm. Measure with the carb top held vertically and the float just touching thi spring loaded part of the needle valve. I made myself a spacer that is filed to 5.5mm thick, you can then see if there is clearance or movement of the float when you slide it betweenthe float and gasket and adjust accordingly. Much easier than trying to measure it in any way.
