Hi guys,
I have the intention to buy a 1.3 carbed series 3 with LPG in it. The cheapest way to drive supid km's I suppose without having to diesel...
But I have two 1.7 IE 8V blocks here and I was wondering if it is possible to switch those blocks. Suppose the mechanical fuelpump has to be put over, but what I was really wondering is can the 1.3 carbs cope with the more air a 1.7 sucks? And how do the carbs addapt to the IE block? In case of emergency I can get my hands on a set of 1.5 Ti carbs which probabley have less probs feeding the 1.7. And last but not least... How does a IE block react on carbs feeding it?
And how does a boxer cope with gassy fuel replacing the liquid type?
Regards!!

I thought all the carbed S3's had 40 mm carbs anyway, and are choked down for the smaller capacities. Should be feasable to sort something.

Yes, it will be ok, you just have to remember to re-tune (and possibly rejet) the carbs to make the most of the conversion
