Hi!
Just replaced my leaking fuel tank yesterday (awkward job by the way...)
Anyway after mounting the new tank and tightening the bolts of the straps holding the thing to the body i recognized that I forgot to put a plastic part that is located at the back of the tank approximately in the middle. It was attached to a round hole in the floor of the car by 4 really weak clips and basically was clamped between the tank and the body (no fixed attachement to the tank).
Now to my question: Does anyone now what this part is actually good for? Is it needed to prevent any movement of the tank? Is it risky to not put it back?
Otherwise the car runs fine with the new tank!
Any hints appreciated!
Regards

Hi,
From what you have described its a plastic element that holds the rear of the tank to the floor.
It is meant to keep the tank fixed in place without vibrations. It would be good to put it back. It is not difficult - just to loose a bit the tank so that you create space in order for it to fit.
Hope this helps. _________________ Thanassis Gritsopoulos
