Smoking boxer!!

Hi Guys,
Just bought another Alfa, and there is smoke coming from the oil filler tube. On idle there is a fair amount of constant smoke, but when its rev'ing it seems to go away or at least there is less of it. There is no tell tale smoke from the exhaust, so any ideas what the problem might be. It hasn't been driver for a while and has covered 60k. No knocking or anything else suspicious?
