This friday, comming home from work, I found a pleasant surprise sitting in our driveway:

One of my dad's colleagues asked him:
"Hey, don't you drive an Alfa Romeo?"
"Yes, I do, why?"
"Wasn't it a 33?"
"No, I drive a 75, but my son drives a 33"
"Oh, theres this workshop that I use regularly, they were about to throw out a 33 boxer engine, you should give them a call if you're interested!"

So he called them up, and they asked him when he could stop by to pick it up. He said "About an hour?", "Fine!". So he grabbed a trailer and a case of beer, and went to Holte.
So at the end of the day, theres a completely overhauled 1,5 carbed (2x Webers) 33 boxer engine sitting in our driveway, at the cost of a couple of dozen beers. Very Happy

I think I'm going to swap this engine for my current one, since my own sounds a bit strange at times. Then I'm gonna overhaul the old one, and maybe tune it up a bit. Wink

Wow, better than lottery!

Indeed it looks like new - However I don't think that you can easily exchange this engine to your car 'cause

1. it is a solid liffter engine (pre 1988).
2. intake manifolds are different along with various sensors
3. PAS pump cannot be fitted in pre 1990 engines
4. fuel pump is mechanical vs electrical of IE engines.

However it is still good to have a spare one - You 'll never know what each new day hides...

Regards,
