|
|
Hi all.
Anybody who can help me with some compression figures (hope its the right word) on a 1,5 boxer (105 bhp)?I have just tested mine, and the figures/pressure are : 185-185-185-205 psi (in bar that is 3 x 12,76 and 1 x 14,13 bar).I did the test with "hot" engine, all 4 spark plugs out,and with full throtlle. Is it good or bad,and what about the difference on one cylinder on 20 psi/1,37 bar?
Regards

Hi
Looking at the Dutch manual it looks like minimun compression is 10.3 bar
The difference is a minor concern, but as that is high I would be tempted to recheck that cylinder.
All the best

Hi
Not sure. Wasnt the last cylinder you checked was it? Maybe it had drawn some fuel in by then and had managed to seal the rings a bit better. The readings are basically within 10% so I wouldnt worry
All the best
