Hi, can anyone help me with a stupid problem that I created for myself. With electrics not being my strong point I deceided to strip most of what was not needed from my track car - only to realise that I may have inadvertedly removed one or more cables from the rev counter. There is also the matter that it might be the rev counter itself. Does anyone have a series of tests I could do to test it. I could try and find one in a scrappy but as there are only 3 cables, I think???, to it is there a simple way to test it. Further I have after market ignition as opposed to a coil but I think I know the wire from the ecu that is supposed to run the rev counter. I was able to test the speedo by adding 12v to the correct connector behind the dash and the needle moved round and settled on about 90 - thus indicating that the amount of voltage controls the speedo. I dont really want to touch a live feed to the back of the gauge or the connectors as I don't really want to put 12v through something that might not like it.

Any tips would be welcome and probably tested out over this Easter.
