Hi
Aaaarrrgggggghhhhhhh.
Right, that is out of the way.
First we got knobled with a virus, then had major ADSL problems (it would hold a connection for all of 2 minutes), then found that phpBB defaults to a full backup, but had failed to do so and the files it had generated were too large.
Anyway, finally I have got it back together.
I know of at least one minor issue. Anyone finds anything else wrong then let me know.
All the best

javascript:emoticon('')Welcome back Keith. However, I seem to have to do a work-around through your home page to get the discussion list.

Hi,
Good to see the forum back!!!
Keith, is it possible to notify all users via their email address that the list is back ?
It would be practical as the URL of the forum has changed a bit...

Hi
Not sure about the emails.
I will probably set the URL back to what it was.

Hi,
Keith, in the memberlist menu the "last visited" field is not appearing next to each user's info.
Think that this used to exist before the crash.

Hi
Yes there was that feature. It was one I had added, but I have not had a chance to amend the latest version of phpBB for it.
All the best

Hi All,
Glad to have been rescued from our state of limbo. Just had my first fix of the discussion page after the 'illness'.
Thank you Keith for all your efforts on our behalf.

Eep... I should have had the site book marked and not the forum, I've been getting the message about the board being down due to a virus... Just went in via the main site on the off chance.
Seems like there is a 33 cull while I have been gone with all the pictures of dented 33s _________________ (00=\°/=00) (00=\°/=00)

Phew!!! I'm glad to see this board back - I didn't notice till today as I had a direct bookmark to the old forum URL.
Thanks for the effort Keith - well appreciated. _________________ http://www.trofeoalfasud.com

I didn't notice until today either because I had also bookmarked the old direct URL (phpbb2 has changed to phpbb3)..
Any chance a message could be put at the old address informing people of the change?
Edit: And while I'm complaining, is it just me or does the search feature not work right? Even if I search for a word like 'engine' I only get about five topics. Most words return no matches at all, even though I know that topic has been discussed here in the past. |

Hi Keith,
Nice to see board up & running.
Past few weeks without it was almost like period of time when Alfa is not running.

Hi
We did not back up the search facility database as it was huge (bigger than everything else put together). I will have a look and see about rebuilding it somehow.
My web space provider is having problems at the moment so I cannot ftp up anything currently without logging on with a modem directly to them, but I will probably move this back to the old location and then put up a panel for the redirection on this URL.
By the way, if you want to come directly to the discussion list then use this:-

Keith
I got a message saying the discussion page was back on line again.
A bit late as I had found that out for myself, but what a very nice touch, makes this even more like a 'family page'.
Thanks Son!
