Hi
Seems to work so far.
Once the bandwidth is sorted (and maybe the colours changed) I will advertise this board instead
All the best

This looks so much better keith, well done on your efforts. Does the P M service also work. This will be very beneficial if it does, as people will be able to discuss problems first hand. Look forward to vistiing this site as often as he old one

Charlie,
Yes the PM does work. You just have to register for it to work properly. It is free to register and does save a bit of time in the writting of the message.
It's also free of ads. A big bonus. _________________ Scott Sander

My only question is - without using the free advertising-supported bulletin board someone must be paying for the bandwidth this site will consume? Who do I send my message of thanks to? Keith? |

Hi
No problems about linking to it, but if so can you please link to the whole site:-
http://www.alfa-pages.co.uk/?go_to=disc
As to the costs, I may put a banner ad up at some time, but there is no way I want any pop ups. The bandwidth is costing me directly, roughly £250 a year with a 40gb a month limit (that should be enough, as speaking to someone who runs a busy bike phpBB site they use about 25~30gb a month). This compares with the £117 a year that the web space was costing with a 1gb a month limit
As to making images into links, I am not sure how at the moment. Anyone finds out then let me know
All the best

While on subject, at the moment I'm thinking of Western Union money transfer, so how much should I add on to 50U$ (if that is enough for all those 33 parts you sent me) for expences of this AlfaPages, will 20U$ be enough?.
And is there western union near you? _________________ Tino Vatavuk

Just one thing, be careful with puting pictures into posts, because as I seen it on other forums and this one seems not to be different, a lot of pictures means a lot of time needed to load topic, and it reload them each time.
I'm on DSL, but some people stil aren't.

Hi
Strange, the autologin works for me (bit of a pain as I have 2 logins).
By the way, the biggest problem with pictures is that they land up stretching the screen so it is difficult to read
Wish I had DSL. Local exchange is ADSL enabled, but too far away and the village I live in has little chance of getting cable. Only way we will get a high speed net connection is satellite, which is a tad expensive (£600~£1000 installation, and then £60~£100 a month)
All the best
