i know the spedo was out but i did get an indicated 155mph out of my old p4 and the spedo seemed to read about 5mph too high all the time.
mods:
manifold
flywheel
clutch
fuel pump
custom chip with 7500rpm limit
exhaust (no cat)
K&N
NEW engine and gearbox
on stock P4 wheels.
it was out running a fiat brava hgt(or bravo can never tell them apart) and a vauxhall vectra 2.5v6 at the time. on a track of course 
the car used to get over 140 with ease and only needed to be pushed to go to over 150. even managed to out run a golf v6 4motion 2.8 in that 33.
then again i could walk past the stupid german underpowered heap.
