hey all,
i've been away from the forum for months now but the alfa project has kept going.
i'm almost at a stage where i'll have most of the P4 parts up for sale and this seems like the best place to help another alfa live for years to come yet.
i should have the following: (all fully working)
16v engine
P4 gearbox (rebuilt less than 4k ago)
prop shaft
rear axel with diff and brakes
all suspension
front brakes
all the interior (with recaro seats)
electric windows
clutch and brake master cylinders
radiator
that would be about it for the first stage. all the body panels, doors, sun roof, bumpers, rear hatch etc will be goin nearer the end of the year when i have made up the carbon bits to replace them.
NONE of this is for sale now (hence why i posted in here not forsale section) but if people do want bits from it then i'll post it all up next month when its ready to be sold.
if not i'll just load it up onto a trailer and send it to the local scrapyard.
there may be other bits that go too, like fuel pump, fuel tank, dash dials etc. but i'm not sure how that part of the project is going to go yet so i'll hold fire on that for now.
if there is interest then i'll start a for sale topic next month when the bits are ready to go.
cheers
and sorry for the long post.

I'm interested in the recaros and the rest of the interior trim.
Maybe also in a few other things as well depending on the price
Good luck with your project! |

Don't want to swap this car for your old P4 for a few quid do you?, my/your old engine is dying on me - low oil pressure on tickover. (not big ends or pump - probably needs rebuild again.) Did have three 33s running in March, now down to one. _________________ Owner's Club 33 Registrar. Now from P4 & S2 1.7 QV

could do paul. but this one isnt as tidy as my old one is now. i need to get shot of the engine anyway so why not have that off me? i dont need an alfa engine so you could use your one as spares.

Well I'm definitely interested one way or the other. In what way isn't it as tidy? _________________ Owner's Club 33 Registrar. Now from P4 & S2 1.7 QV

well it all works and is almost 100% standard with a cone filter as the only mod.
but the paint has gone almost white in the sun. its about 6 different shades of red/pink/white and there just the shades i can see and i'm red/green colour blind!
also the fuel tank is only patched up rather than properly fixed.
apart from that tho its a nice car. there was a small problem with the 4x4 but it turned out to be a sticky switch on the brake pedal. and the engine has never missed a beat.
the interior is nice, just the standard recaro seats and door cards but they are clean and in good order. and the gearbox was rebuilt within the last 18 months.
the paint is the real downer on the car. its in a horid state. much worse than my old one went.
i am going to respray the car before its back on the road again anyway so i'm not bothered. plus seeing as i have the car already i dont have to buy another one for my project.
i spose it is a bit of a shame to trash a nice example of the p4 but its the cheaper option to finishing my drift project.
with any luck i'll get alfa romeo some more wins on the track next year. even with a subaru power plant

right, i've started work on the car and basicly if someone wants it and i dont need it anymore then its up for sale.
please DONT post in this topic if you want parts, i have started a new topic in the for sale section..
Horizontally Opposed has first dibs on the interior as he asked first
and paul you have first dibs on the engine.
boxertricks and Jaty you are both on in line for interior parts and Jaty you are also second in line for the engine.
here is a link to the for sale topic.
http://www.alfa-pages.co.uk/viewtopic.php?t=2287
please dont post for parts in this topic,
thanks

Thanks Luke, I've just got hold of an engine and will bite the bullet and do a change and so will let Jaty have first call. If I think I've got loads of work ahead of me God knows what you're putting yourself up for so Good Luck. Bring it down to the Jack & Jill when your eventually finished so we can all have a look.
