Hello Alfistas...

I got a question for you all! My Alfa's 33 (S3) gearshift under acceleration (and rarely in downshifting, especially from 4th to 3rd) in 4th and 5th gear and over 3500 rpm, makes a rattling noice.

I wanted to know if thge noice comes from the gearbox rings or is there something to do with the gearbox bushes and the gearlever connections to the gearbox???

What I should do???

Thanks in advance Cool

Simply changing the bush at the bottom of the gearlever stopped the rattle on both my gearboxes. Smile

Hi,

Yes it is a DIY job. This is a small blue coloured bush and it actually bolts the lever to the chassis. However, you should be armed with plenty of time and patience as this area is too narrow and small to work easily.
The cost of this bush is around 8 €when I had bought it 2 years ago as a backup.

Hope this helps

Regards
