Hi,
Can someone explain the workings of the Magneti Marelli style distributor's dual pickups? I believe they are in the late model Alfasuds and early 8v 33s.
There are two pickups and I assume the relays switch between them according to the speedo pickup.... ? Anyone shed some light?

I belive its for the a/c system and/or warming up the motor when its cold, its advances the timeing a few degrees by useing a pickup in a diffrent location in the dizzy |

I don;t think Alfasuds ever had a/c? Looks like it hooks up to a pickup in the speedo line?
Anyway I'm planning to bypass the system completely and hook a single pickup direct to the ignition module, and retime the engine from there.
