|
|
hey folks.
right i have a 1992 (j plate) 33 perm 4 that i'm stripping of most of its parts.
if there is a part you want then just ask. some of the parts are not for sale but feel free to ask as most of it is.
PARTS GONE:
engine - sold
gearbox and vis coupling mounts - under offer.
fuel tank straps
PARTS STILL TO GO
*******Recaro seats and door cards******* back on sale!!!
rear axel
all brake system
fuel tank (has been repaird after leaking. hasnt leaked in 9months)
perm 4 ecu
engine loom
engine ecu
remaining interior
prop shaft
2 year old P4 gear box
and much more - just ask.
boxertricks and Jaty the interior parts are now sold.
and Jaty the engine is also sold.
everything on the car works perfectly so anything you are after as a fix should do the trick.
feel free to pm me with offers for parts (i'd rather barter for parts than set rigid prices) but please put a short message in this topic to let other people know what parts your after and that you have pm'd me.
cheers
Luke.
p.s. the car is in Sussex in the south of england. i can arrange postage for parts but some of the larger parts could be harder. _________________ A good workman allways blames his sh*t tools.

Thanks Luke, I've just got hold of an engine and will bite the bullet and do a change and so will let Jaty have first call. If I think I've got loads of work ahead of me God knows what you're putting yourself up for so Good Luck. Bring it down to the Jack & Jill when your eventually finished so we can all have a look. Cheers.

paul, no probs.. and yeh i've got loads of work ahead. with any luck i'll have most of it done before autumn sets in.
Jaty, your top of the engine list now i'll be taking the lump out over the next week or 2. i've got to juggle stripping the 33 with preparing the drift car for round 4. i'll email you later today.
not sure abou the cross member. dont think i can spare it atm. but might do later on in the project.
kaboom, yes the perm 4 does have rear discs.
right off to read pm's.

Hi
I am after the rear gearbox mount, and the mounts for the viscous coupling, and if the front springs are standard and in good condition then I could do with some of those.
All the best

i'm not sure which part you are after. all the seats and door cards are already sold.
is this spacer needed to fit the seats? if so then i really should send it with the seats.
cheers

Hello,
You don't really have to send the spacers with the seats as the buyer will have spacers already for the seats he/she is replacing but let me know if you have them and they are for sale.
Thanks

I've got spacers if you need them. I take it you mean the little heavy round cylinders that go underneath the seat runners? _________________ Owner's Club 33 Registrar. Now from P4 & S2 1.7 QV

Hello,
That is correct. Can you email me a contact telephone number. I would like to acquire these by Tuesday 2nd. Can you send them by then. Also how much are you willing to let them go? I trust they are the original spacers. email prauguste@yahoo.com.
Thanks

Hrm, just wondering does the Permanant 4 5 speed gearbox have the vicous center built into the back of the gearbox? Is the clutching system built into the actual trans houseing?
Sorry we have a major lack of Alfa 33 Permanant 4's in Australia, Alfa imported a sum total of 58 of the suckers....and that was in 1990! God knows how many are left.......I'm looking into building one, but alas I don't know if there are any floor pan changes over the normal 2WD serries 3 cars
Curse my being in Australia....*sigh* |

there are quite a few chassis changes to the perm 4 over the normal front wheel drive 33.
the gearbox has front drive shaft outputs and also a rear prop output.
there is a meagnetic couping on the back of the gearbox that cuts the power to the prop under heavy braking to prevent tail slide.
the viscous coupling is in the middle of the prop shaft and not part of the gearbox.
there is a live rear axel and the fuel tank is a different shape to make way for this. also the floor is different to fit the fuel, axel and prop in.
its not the most complicated 4wd system ever but to make it work on a front wheel drive 33 you would have to cut the floor pan up and weld in new plates to fit the rear drive parts.
some of the parts are no longer sold as spares so it could be hard to build your own p4.
a friend of mine moved to NZ last year and exported his uk car there when he went. it cost him around £4000 to do this with the insurance to cover the car in transit. if you want a p4 that bad then maybe importing one from the uk would be a better option? not cheap tho!

Sadly the rules are here, that if the car was sold here as new, you can't import one exactly the same from over sea's.......really! Alfa Romeo "owns" the engineering compliance, and its not likely they will lets me use it....lol
The guys wanting S14 and S15 Nissan silvias have the same problems....*sigh*
Our goverment seems to wat to move all our laws etc in line with the US....grrrrrrrrrrr! |

Hi Luke, just about to start engine change on the P4 when I noticed one of the rear petrol tank straps is busted. Do you have any spare? _________________ Owner's Club 33 Registrar. Now from P4 & S2 1.7 QV

If its possible, could you please take a photo of the P4 gearbox and fuel tank?
Sorry to waste your time, esp when I can't really buy much, shipping out to the "colonys" would kill me...lol
We got around the diff problem, I'm useing a Nissan R180 LSD rear diff from a Nissan DR30 Skyline. A mate of the boss's son did this to his Alfa Sud (that also ran a 13B Mazda Rotory engine) when he installed 4WD into that....
Do you have any Permanat 4 badges at all? Also viscous couplings, do you mean CV joints, or are they they part of the 4wd system? |

no problem at all, i'll take some pics when i get the box out (if it ever stops raining on the days i want to work on the car )
but basicly it looks exactly like the front wheel drive box with an extra little bit on the back to join to the prop.
the fuel tank should be out soon too so i'll do a pic of that too.
the badge says "Permanent 4" and i'm keeping the permanent bit but you can have the 4 if you like.
the viscous coupling is in the middle of the prop shaft. if the front wheels slip it locks up and puts more power to the rears. so its part of the 4wd system.
you may find shipping to aus isnt that much. i had a gearbox made by PAR who are down there, they shipped it here for not a great deal of money.
cheers

Do you have the fuse box cover? (just to the right of the steering wheel with the cubby hole in it).
I'd be interested if you do. |
