Hi.
I’m having some trouble whit my power windows. They don’t work. Here is the thing, I clicked on the driver’s side window and it dropped about 2 cm and it stopped. I tried the other side and it doesn’t work either, and they were working fine before. Any ideas?
I have an 1992 Alfa 33 1.5 IE
Thanks

Hi,
Sounds to me like an electrical problem since it cannot operate the passengers window.
You can open the door card and test with a multimeter if current reaches the connectors of the window motor. This can be a start.

Also check the fusebox.
I was driving along once, with my windows half down, and a few electrical things stopped (ventilation fan might have been one, because I noticed when it happened). The windows both stopped working at the same time, just before I needed to park my car on the main street of the city on a business job. I had to leave it parked with the windows half down...
I later found the cause was just a loose connection with the stupid torpedo fuse controlling the electric windows and the other stuff which stopped at the same time. |

It might be that the cables been cut off at the section from the door to the car body. |

Hi
Do you have an alarm with power windows module?
My alarm, played up, leaving me with the right window down (passanger side). The left one (driver side), still worked but very slowly...
Removed the power widows module, remade the original wiring, and everything gone back to normal.
Strange thing...The pack that includes this module, is called "confort"...
Confort in knowing that sometime it will leave you with open windows..
Also take notice of one thing:
On S2 cars, you can remove one switch, for one side, that the other continues to work. They are independent.
On S3 cars, the voltage for the passanger window goes first in the drivers switch and only then to the passanger door.
If you remove the drivers switch...The passanger window, will not work...
All the best
