|
|
My recently overhauled PAS rack has started leaking fluid badly again. The fluid comes through a hole that was cut in the rubber gaiter by some loose spring or other part inside of the rack.
Would it be safe to just take of the PAS belt and use the rack as a non-power assisted one until I find a replacement rack and take all the trouble of replacing it? _________________ 33 1.7 16V is no more (sob)

Hi,
No problem at all. Remove the belt from the PAS pump and you 'll be fine.
There is possibility that any remaining fluid will be expelled from the rack, after that the rack will perform like a mechanical one.
