Hi,
I would be interested in the motor if the other guy's not.
Are there any problems with it? |

Oh, no. This is definitely bottom end failure. It's going to be expensive whichever way you look at it.
My previous Alfa, a 155 2.0 16V, suffered such failure when I was keeping up with (read: racing) a Belgian Astra coupe. I was told the same thing: expect to pay more than the car's worth to fix it.
Unfortunately I had neither the space nor the time to take the car apart, and I needed transport every day. So I just flogged it for parts and got myself another new Alfa.
I wish you the best of luck taking the engine apart, and hope the damage isn't too severe. _________________ Hugh B
