I have a Bosch ECU distributor on my 1989 1.7 8v. I want to partially strip it down so I can really clean it up (ie take off the vacuum advance etc) to finish my engine rebuild.

Is this possible? - the manual says that these dizzies shouldn't be dismantled - anyone had any experience?
