Haynes manual (for the Alfasud or Sprint solid lifter engine with removable cam cover) says 8.3 ~ 8.9 kg f m or 60.0 ~ 64.3 lb f ft.
That's how they write the units. Confused

Hi KLC,

Just take note of the following:

When first installing the heads, make sure each head bolt has a smear of oil on the contact surface (not the thread).

After starting, run engine until fan cuts in, then allow to cool completely (overnight), then back all bolts off 1/4 first and re-torque. Some people are happy to drive a car 500 kms before re-torquing, but in the Alfas, even the factory approach has been to use the above method. From an engineering perspective, the engine has not had a chance to be loaded and heated under load - which can cause abnormal warping. If a head has been torqued correctly, then normal warping is within tolerance. In 500 kms, there is a good chance that leaks could occur. In my experience with Italian engines, the initial warm-up, cooling and re-torquing has never led to any problems. Food for thought.

Sequence:

3 1 5
FRONT

6 2 4

(reverse if left bank)

Good luck.

Chris.
