My speedo on my 33 16v has been 'temperamental' to say the least - but this time instead of just doing weird and wonderful things ie. readings of 120 mph at below 20(!) it just made a lot of noise and finally died.

I'm told by those that know, that it's an electronic system rather than a cable and the advice is that it's probably worth trying a second hand sensor as the first step.

Does anyone have confirming/other thoughts(?) and if it is the sensor, is there anyone out there with a used one to offer?

One click on Search button, typed speedo in and voila Smile

That should give you enough of material to understand problem.

Sensor can be problem although it is more usual that some connector oxidated or is lousy connected...
But when speedo makes noise and signals like native American, then it is time to repair speedo aswell.

Cheers

I just threw away a used speedo pod about twenty minutes ago Embarassed

Have another on the other breaking sportwagon with 91,000 on it or thereabouts if you need one, has a working sender too.
