Hello,
I wonder if someone has something to suggest:
in my 33 1,4 IE 1991, the air condition has excellent performance (brrr..) but it is very NOISY.
The noise seems to come from the rotation of the compressor. The noise is continous and follows the RPM of the engine. It is NOT belt noise.
Does anybody have any idea ? Worn bearings of compressor? something else?

Several things could be the cause: loose pulley (either on the compressor or elsewhere) worn bearings in the compressor (as you suggest) low system gas pressure (which can still have enough to provide cooling but still cause noise). Even a worn or hardened belt can cause noise. A combination of all of these can do the same thing.
One approach is to spray water onto the belt and pulley - if the noise stops, then the cause is external from the compressor. _________________ Chris Notsis |
