Hi,

In my experience the average car should get about 75k from a clutch if not subjected to abuse like wheelspins and holding on hills for ages. A car that's used on motorways daily will probably go well over 100k, except if the motorway is the m25 where a clutch will last about 10 miles Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes

If you have some old duffer riding the clutch and too weak to apply the handbrake etc it could be shagged in a week.

I changed the clutch on my 33 16v the first time I had the engine out at about 55k as a precaution- the bearing showed a bit of wear (and had shreiked on a few fast move offs previously), but the disk was in pretty good shape.

Ok, on occasion mine slips a bit but might be due to clutch slave cylinder not releasing fully, I have not looked into it yet.
