Ok is it true or not that better ignition leads improve performance? ive got a mate who has changed them on his 33 and says he's noticed a increase in performance. So i guess its true? Where the heck can i get some? _________________ 91 Alfa Romeo 33 16v * SOLD*

Hi
HT leads cannot give you any better performance, although knackered ones can loose you performance. If you have badly shielded electronic components in the ignition / injection system then you can get interference from the HT leads.
That said if your leads are suffering from old age Magnecor leads have a good reputation
All the best

See i thought so! Im sure if you change the ignition leads you get increased performance. As if you wouldnt. Thats why my friend's car did. It had 137BHP then went up 143BHP with the leads. _________________ 91 Alfa Romeo 33 16v * SOLD*

no wot admin meant is this power has always bin ther ejust due to poor maintenence it has lost some so replacing the ht leads will just restore ur lost power so technically u havnt actually gained ne power and if ur changing the leads may as well do the plugs as well _________________ http://www.novaload.net/features/viewfeature.php?ref=881 |

If you think that you've gained any power, you are just imagining it.
If you test the resistance of the leads with a multi-meter, you can see if any of them have a higher resistance and so need replacing. I think that the problem is usually corroded terminals. _________________ 1988 Sprint 1.7 QV (35,000 miles) |
