Anyone got a spare hazard flasher unit that works.
Black, 8 pin- 60581475, B883, 79158, 12v/2(4)x21w, made in italy

John, Are you any good with a soldering iron?
I read your post and it sounds very similar to the problem i had when i first got my car. Take the plastic cover off the relay- you need to push the tabs in at the side of the cover- Then from memory there are 3 solder joints at one end on the printed circuit board, one of them will be dry jointed ( you'll see a faint line around the solder ring on the PCB) Just give it a quick dab with a fully hot iron and that will hopefully do the trick. Mines been ok since then..........bugger, shouldn't have said that.

Thanks Lee, i'll have a go at it.
I think replacement can only be a genuine item, not sure if AR still do 'em, but EPR says about £17 i think.
Called in on my local (very good) factors, and we had a good delve into parts books etc, and they showed nothing with 8 pins. Some BMW items went up to 7 pin.

I just went mad and moistened up as many joints as I could, adding a little solder along the way.
Guess what, it seems to work both lying down and erect.

Sorry to dig up old threads but I'm going to have to give this a go. It's driving me nuts fiddling with it to make it work.
Can't find a new one anywhere. Can't find the soldering iron either.

I forgot to post when I started having problems again about a month ago.
So all in all, it lasts a while 
At first I thought it was a wiring problem and remembered what I did last time. I did it again and all is ok again for another 5 years maybe
