Temperature going to 110deg even when cold?

Hi guys i have connected the correct cable to the temperature sensor in the middle of the engine and when cold it reads around 70deg with the ignition on, then with the car on jumps to 110deg?? Doesnt move weather hot or cold, i have changed sensors over with no sucess any ideas?

wrong wire try the wire that goes onto the little square block on the sensor in the middle of the block and visa versa.

Well in the workshop manual it states "M" which is brown, the only wire coming off the loom on that side that is free is brown :S, so im confused it runs on the same side as the alternator wires.
