I had tyres fitted Sat Mar 17, 2007, car was off the road Wed Nov 21, 2007, so that’s 8 months of tyre use, had car back on the road Sat Jun 28, 2008, so that’s another month, bringing it up to 9 months and tyres are down to limit. Need to sort tracking out as that is bad.
What should I set it to as I have been advised to set to parallel on a lowered up rated car as toe out would be horrible in the wet, then others say toe out 3 like the manual and racers even go to 7…
HELP!! Need to get new tyres and don’t want to scrub them out in only 9 months of use.

nop, tracking is wrong  , whats wrong with my driving, i drive like any other alfa owner  They dont like being driven slowly.

Hi
Would be inclined to check all the bushes and the ball joints as well. If they are shot then the tracking will be out when being driven and they are under load.

hey Keith, its deffo the tracking as all my bushes are power flex ones, the ball joints are passable for mot and I only got bad tyre wear when I set it to toe in, I’m getting new tyres soon and would like to know where to put the toe for a lowered up rated car for road use.
Maybe set to parallel when completely empty and get toe out when full with petrol and people?
I understand what you are supposed to do with weights for a normal car but does that still apply for a lowered one?

I put your reply here as I guessed you posted in the wrong subject
After talking about this subject I have come to the following conclusion. The car is set up with toe out when stationary and when the car is being driven or accelerating the wheels will then start to toe in as the front will rise, therefore bringing the wheels parallel. So I definitely set mine up wrong proven by rapid tyre wear of my "GOODYEAR EAGLE F1'S" but absolutely no under steer. I agree with you that too much toe out will make steering erratic and cant understand why race cars have them set to as much as 7 degrees toe out, it must work or they wouldn’t do it, hence me asking about a lowered car, obviously they are not looking for tyre longevity, so there must be a happy medium.

2 to 4 mm toe out is optimum. Racers use up to 7mm (not degrees?) of toe out.
