Hi,

Well i've just bitten the bullet and ordered a new day to day / work car in defiance of the credit crunch.

This is to replace my Renault Clio, and NOT my 33!!!!

I'm sorry it's not an Alfa, but it is Italian!! - A fiat grande punto 1400 in exotica red.

One good thing about he current ecconomy- if you do need to get a new car, the dealers will bite your f*cking hand off! I did some research, then phoned a few local(ish) dealers, said i wanted to order a car within 3 days and got a car with a list price of about 10.5k in the red for well under 8 grand.

Just got to keep working to pay for it now!

John

Borrowed one of these a while ago John... was very nice.

Not sure I'd get a fiat meself... but maybe that's just me.

Good luck with it...!

Hi

A 500 Abarth is quite appealing.

Personally what I fancy is a Panda 4x4 model fitted with the decently pokey engine (they only seem to want to sell the 4x4 with an asthmatic engine).

All the best

Keith

Yep i'd quite like one of those.

My Dad has a 500 sport 1.4 16v which with the sport button pressed is apparantly quite nippy. With the sport setting off, it's gutless, i'm told- never been in it yet.

I think Fiat have come a long way........I'd consider one myself and yes the Arbarth version of the 500 seemed quite pokey.......I'm just not sold on the shape of it.

RICH , I wish, i only have a 2 up 2 down and on a busy road so buying a larger house in the current market means I get a better deal therefore justifying the loss on a smaller property........anyone want a house in farnham?.

they are nice cars, my daily driver is a Grande Sporting 1.4 16v and its great, just coming up to 2 years old with 30k on it and no real issues as yet, its hard to think what to replace it with really its a great package for the money despite some niggly issues!! Also my sister has a new 500 1.2 POP which is superb, a great fun little car, Fiat have definately come on leaps and bounds recently.
