New electronics OBD2... are to much ECO friendly so chip usualy don't have such impact as fooling onboard ECU that all is ok while having very rich mixture
For older cars like 33 it is closer to chip then to new ECU unit.
On new cars they are closer to new ECU then chip in power gain, without many drawbacks of new ECU. _________________ Tino Vatavuk

It just seems such an easy solution, as in no extra parts, no changing parts. Anyone got anymore comments? As in, comparing results from other types?
Twinspark, anyone you know got any comparison results, from other brands ect? _________________ x2 33 16v

Hi Al
I've got a Superchip - it'll be going onto my 16v sportwagon when I get it (8th September) so I'll let you know if its worthwhile, I think the website claims about an extra 8bhp.
Cheers

Cant think of anyone thats had that fitted who has also tried other brands like superchips etc sorry.....
As far as i'm aware a UNIchip can be removed and fitted/reprogrammed to another car, so you can keep it when you change! _________________ P17SUT - tourismo internazionale |

Hi, We used a Dastek Unichip on our first engine.
-We used a 145 1700 16v, which runs on Bosch Motronic, and is already dizzy-less.
We did a straight transplant from the 145 to our car, inc. loom sensors etc.
Then built our own exhaust system.
Finally we piggy-backed the system with the Dastek.
-Worked brilliantly, with super smooth running, and drivability.
We had the lot installed and mapped on the rollers, so a real top job.
The great thing is that you can upgrade the engine, and then just keep having the Dastek re-mapped to suit.
Basically it turns your fixed ECU into a mappable one!
We were very impressed.
Have now gone full race, and on MBE.
The Dastek is in the garage somewhere, with the complete engine loom if anyone here is interested.
Hope this helps, Cheers, Gra.
