Hi,
In my experience the average car should get about 75k from a clutch if not subjected to abuse like wheelspins and holding on hills for ages. A car that's used on motorways daily will probably go well over 100k, except if the motorway is the m25 where a clutch will last about 10 miles
If you have some old duffer riding the clutch and too weak to apply the handbrake etc it could be shagged in a week.
I changed the clutch on my 33 16v the first time I had the engine out at about 55k as a precaution- the bearing showed a bit of wear (and had shreiked on a few fast move offs previously), but the disk was in pretty good shape.

Ok, on occasion mine slips a bit but might be due to clutch slave cylinder not releasing fully, I have not looked into it yet. _________________ x2 33 16v
