Gentlemen, my beloved car should be having some major body work done in a few weeks , but Im still a bit undecided as to the kit to use, I may go down the Ed Gury (ex nick humphrey race 33 car kit) route but don't feel it gives a wide enough arch as my rear split rims are 20mm wide than the car!!. Any suggestions and info would be great. Ta.

Hi John, the first photo is the kit I can get hold of, I quite like the arches but not the rear door and the bumper on the second, too much boy racer style. I have seen a racer with the 155 dtm style kit but the owners can't be bothered to reply to my request (david thomas garages). Evil or Very Mad

Mr Thomas, I've noticed, has lost some of his interest these days, probably as the business is snowed with work. I overheard him turn work away many a time. If it's not Alfa work it's customers from far and wide as they are the local, trusted, MOT station

Email is hit and miss unless it's about booked jobs. Best ring-in on a Saturday, late-morning Wink

As a package the second photo is boy racer ish. However if you look at just the arches I think it suits the 33's shape a lot more. Its the same as Audi is doing with their RS variants.

I think the integrale kit is wide enough to cover your new wheels Oggie. Try measuring out from the waist line on your car and get a distance to edge of your new wheels. Can you then compare that measurement with the arch standoff on the photo?

Here in Portugal there is an S2 that looks like this :

Those are recent photos taken by me .

I talked to the guy, maybe almost 10 years ago, when he made it, and he told me it's all done by him, not fiber glass, it's really metal, he works in an auto body repair garage, and tooke him nearly one year to do .

The wheels are from a bug ( VW ), reverse mounted .

I would prefer that mod on a complete series 3 or series 2, not the mix of both...

But it's very cool!!

Well I have taken the plunge and ordered a set of arches (like the orange car) to be made up in fibre glass, they should arrive with me in 2 weeks time, in the mean time Im getting some rust sorted on the boot floor and around the original inner arches just to make sure its solid before the kit goes on and re-sprayed. I hope by the spring it will be back together and turning heads. Cool

A chap called Bob Wright makes the kit on the orange bls race car, his company is called Alfa Panels. I have that kit now and its a bit rough round the edges and will take a bit of fettling to get it looking right. The kit (which consists of 2 front wings, 2 rear door skins and 2 rear quater panels) costs £600.00p Shocked plus £20 postage, and to make it street worthy it will need a bit more supporting and fabricating around the front wings and rear quater panels (otherwise it will leak water and small stones!).

You're car will look amazing when done Iain, Edwards s2 with the wide kit was nice, would be good to see another 33 looking similar. His 33 is now owned by Dave Lambourn who has put the standard interior back in it, so it is now a wide bodied rd car, still with the 16v engine in. Good luck with the project sir.

could you post a few pics of the kit and the fitting in progress?

I've got a picture somewhere of a similar kit on a 'sud, that was a BLS kit too.

Good to hear you've got your bits Iain - I did say that they will need some work for a nice road car! My race car does'nt have to be completely waterproof but it did take quite a bit of work to make it reasonable! If you need any photos, etc let me know, I'll be over in Lincoln next week.

Well my rear panel was shot and would need a lot of cutting and filling to make good, instead I have now believe it or not ordered the slam panel new from alfa dealership so work can continue. Interesting to know that he parts still available. Smile

lol iain
when you go to make a post there is Img above the box where you enter the text. If you click on it you will get "" at the end, with out the quotation marks. you then need to put the url short cut to the pic inbetween these two. E.G http://i187.photobucket.com/albums/x73/bigal333/Clutchslavecylinderremoval.jpg
Even if it doesnt pop up, you should get a link to it.
hope that helps

The car is almost ready, Im picking it up next Saturday.
I have seen the car with the new springs on and its real low, the downside is the body shop are going to get it back in after the Spa trip to re-paint and flat the paint work, its lets say very poor IMHO. Rolling Eyes
