If someone has a spare gasket or an old one could they measure how thick it is please.

Not sure really. Why do you need to know?

There are cheap service kits out there with new gaskets that are the specified thickness if you need a new one.

Do you mean the thin gaskets that go either side of the sandwich plate or the sandwich plate?

Also if you are referring to the actual thin gaskets between the sandwich plate an old one will vary quite a lot to the new one due to the compression after use.

I mean the gasket, not the insulator.

If someone can provide a source that would be useful but I understood they were NLA (a friend of Alex's was struggling to get them recently). If I have a thickness I can get the approrpriate paper (factored up for compression maybe) and make my own.

I'd rather buy some though so let me have your sources.

Are they the same on 8v and 16v cars, there are plenty of cheap 8v head gasket sets on ebay.

Thanks.

I bought my service kit from this guy.

Included all gaskets, diaphragms, washers, valves for floaters etc.

Good price also.

See my signature, fuel injection, I assume the gaskets are different for the throttle bodies than the carbs?

Yes, insulators/gaskets are a different shape to those for carburetted models.

Jeremy,

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ALFA-ROMEO-HEAD-GASKET-SET-33-145-146-1-7-16V-1990-1996-/200546361145?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item2eb17e9f39

If for both heads, not a bad deal, especially if inlet spacers are included.
Just the rocker gaskets if still available are about £16 each.

John

Is there a coolant flow from the head to the TBs? I've never taken them off before but the new insulators that Alex has sent me seem to have a third port between the two inlets.

These are now definitely NLA from Alfa (according to Mangoletsi anyway).

However Mangoletsi suggested I try Just Suds and John is able to source them direct from one of the gasket suppliers.

JC, how did you get on?
Just suds were after a 16v head gasket, I pointed him to BGA, who now have 2 left.
I have a headgasket kit i bought, just for the head gaskets, I can get one measured if you still need it done and take some pics for you.
