As the weather's been so good, i've got stuck into my '33 jobs list' starting with replacing the fuel tank sender.

I'd managed to bugger the original one up when I had the tank down a year ago for a cleanup and paint and replacing the hoses (one was perished and leaking).

Not having a fuel gauge was a pain in the arse and even though the car is hardly used, I had to keep a little record system going in my phone.

Had a job to get the new sender, eventually sending 100 euros Shocked by bacs to a complete unknown in Portugal found on a google search of the part number. It arrived and is now finally fitted.

Also, have done the reverse light switch, next: coolant, fan switch, paint the door mirrors, possibly refurb the wheels a bit...

John

How ironic.......you spend all that time fixing your sender only to find soon you won't be able to put any petrol in it Rolling Eyes Laughing

That's exactly what i thought today. Managed to get to the last working unleaded pump today at a local-ish forecourt to fill up the fiat and a 5 litre can for the 33. So i don't think the 33 will be going anywhere for a little while Crying or Very sad

It should all be back to normal when everyone has their panic buying out of the way.

It's feckin stupid, it's chaos round here with all the twats queuing down the road for fuel and blocking it for everyone else.
There is no strike at the moment and if and when they do decide to come out they have to give 7 yes seven days notice.
So all the people who have caused all this disruption the last couple of days will have used the fuel they are putting in now.
It really makes my blood boil the utter stupidity of people.

I understand it was a minister that announced people should 'top up' Rolling Eyes .

Nice distraction from the fuel duty rise in August...

I say panic buy personally...................my reason is simply this, if those people who only top there tanks up once in a blue moon and do not fill up often are now filling to the brim they are helping the economy, therfore putting money back in to a business rather than sitting on it. The oil business employs several thousand people who could do with boost, it also has a knock on effect to other sectors, to sum it up there is a lot bigger picture.

Now vote for Oggie. Wink

You know it makes sense.

I think the revenue generated through panic buying will average out over the coming weeks. Just because you buy the stuff doesn't mean you use more of it.

I just think the minority of the public are a bit mental and really believe Mad Max is a possibility Laughing

I didn't notice any massive panic-buying round here. Intelligence or apathy?

I wish Ian. Mine's used every day for work. I'd love to keep it as more of a toy
